Watson, Jacqueline DVM, DACVD
Dr. Jacqueline Watson, Diplomate American College of Veterinary Dermatology, grew up in Newtown, Pennsylvania. She received her BS degree in Biology from James Madison University in 2004 where she also competed as a Division 1 scholarship athlete on the track and field and cross country team. She received her DVM from the University of Minnesota in 2008. After completing a rotating internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey, she continued her training at the University of Tennessee where she completed her residency in veterinary dermatology in 2012. She practiced veterinary dermatology at several specialty centers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before joining the SCVSEC team. She has lectured at the local and national levels, and has conducted research in pyoderma and alopecia X. Her professional interests include pyoderma, allergic dermatitis, autoimmune and immune-mediated skin diseases, and feline dermatology. Dr. Watson passed the certifying exam in veterinary dermatology by the ACVD. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society.
Jacqueline lives in Columbia with her husband Luke, also a veterinarian, and their Bull Terrier, Funkmaster Flex, Xoloitzcuintli, Chorizo, two sparsely haired cats, Diesel and Velvet, five snakes, and Iguana. She enjoys endurance running and racing, reading, spending time with her husband and family, and traveling abroad. She aspires to visit every continent including Antarctica (three to go!).
